Took me awhile to get through the first third of the book, not because of the novel itself, but because school was kicking my butt and I got sick on top of that. I'm actually glad I slowed down; the storytelling is rich, fantastic and engaging. It only gets more and more interesting toward the end, but there was no chance I was putting the book down before then anyway. A fresh take on religion, philosophy and survival under the most extreme circumstances.
